Does anyone else watch this show? I had seen previews for it running on Hulu for a long time, but I just tuned them out. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but something about the commercials just gave me the impression that I wouldn't be interested. But I got bored one night last fall and decided to take a look at the first episode (reluctantly). It turned out to be a good decision.

The show is actually really damn funny. Good comedic writing, fun plots, and the cast does a great a job with the roles. Robert Sheehan is particularly excellent in the first two seasons. Sadly, he's moved on to other projects, but season 3 has been good so far even without him. At least as of the second season, it has it serious elements, but it never takes itself seriously. The humor can get pretty crude, but in a bizarro world, intelligent, self-aware, mock low-brow kind of way. Hard to explain, exactly. Probably the best explanation I can give is that it's cut from similar cloth as Archer. The writing and humor aren't exactly comparable, and the pacing of the delivery is certainly quite different (less rapid-fire). Still, I think they're on a similar wavelength. If you like Archer, I think there's a good chance you'll like Misfits.

Like you, I've been inundated with Hulu ads for it, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet (currently rolling through Boardwalk Empire). Heard good things, though.

Also! Archer returns Jan. 19th! And Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston even joins the fun for the season finale.

A little raw for my tastes.

I have no idea, actually. I've been watching it on Hulu.

Edit: looked it up - apparently it doesn't air on any network in the U.S. (cable included)

Ah, that'd explain why I've never heard of it. Too bad I don't have Hulu

The guy who made The O.C. and Gossip Girl will be making an Americanized version of it.

This'll turn out well, I'm sure.

You don't need a Hulu+ subscription. It's one of their basic Hulu (i.e. free) shows. I'm not sure offhand if the first two seasons are still up on the site, though.

Edit:
Actually, you would have to create a Hulu account in this case, though. Normally that's not necessary, but Misfits is <announcer guy voice>intended only for a mature audience</announcer guy voice>.

Misfits of Science? Yeah, I used to watch that. One of Courtney Cox's extreme earlier appearances, shortly after her Masters of the Universe movie appearance.

Oh.... Misfits. No, I haven't seen it.

Took in the first three episodes tonight.

Very nice...one of the actors accents is kinda hard to get around but I approve.

Ok...someone tell me the third season gets better.

Edit: Ok, it does. I have seen everything Hulu has to offer of the show. It is pretty damn good. The first season is freaking brilliant.
