I'm surprised to find no one talking about it! The season premier was pretty great (convenient plot elements aside) and ended really strong. I can't wait for the next episode/rest of the season!

I was surprised that
Spoiler:
Deb found out about Dexter in the first episode. I didn't think they'd make it happen so quickly; gives me hope for the rest of the season to be drama-packed.

I was disappointed with season 5 and didn't see a readily nice way to watch season 6 so I said "Meh." I'll likely watch it on video or something. But after John Lithgow my hunch is I can only be disappointed.

All right, I caved and began watching Season 6. Adama as a main villain? It has potential. Though I am afeard of some heavy-handed "anti religion" subtext throughout the season (I hate heavy-handed anything, for or against anything). But I'm only through the first episode.

I am hoping Amazon gets Season 7 in piecemeal and I'll watch it through that, else I'll just have to wait. It's the price I pay for being free of dishes and cables (but it's a price that is totally worth it).

Ok season six was much better than five. I enjoyed it. Not quite as good as four, but i doubt any season will be.

I'll have to see if i can get seven streaming somehow.

Season 7 is setting up to be pretty tense. Ep 2 was pretty good; I count at least 3 different parties that can be "bad guys" this season.

Without having seen a single episode of 7 yet, I would assume that it will have something to do with Missouka's intern(s) from season 6. Since there is that unresolved open plot thread with the thing... and what he did to the thing.

Sweet. I can watch all season 7 episodes on Showtime's website for free. Well, with the swear words censored. But, I suppose it's actually a little refreshing from hearing cuss words come so awkwardly forced out of Deb's mouth.

I wish HBO would take a cue from Showtime. Those home box office dinkwads.

Spoiler:
Initial thoughts: "They haven't found Gellar's body (which they won't, Dexter dumped it), which was the point of the end of season six of keeping everyone thinking he was still alive. Why are they all thinking this is all wrapped up and good after finding Travis? Gellar was their number one target. Minor nitpick."

Thoughts on finale.

Spoiler:
- Bah. I was really, really, REALLY hoping that Deb had poisoned herself, planted the hair, and set Hannah up for Dexter to dispose of. That would have made a far more interesting plot thread for future seasons. It would have shown that dancing with the Dark Side is dangerous, and being a part of Dexter's world can corrupt. Far more interesting than "Dexter can't keep a girl because she has issues" that we've seen time and time and time again. And it jived with her whole mantra of "I'll do anything to keep Dexter safe" she's been touting this whole damn season. What a cop-out.

- Yvonne looks super hot without as much makeup on. Possibly hotter than normal, unpossible as that is.

- I'm tired of writers continuing to say in these later episodes that Dexter has never killed someone who didn't meet his "code." It's bullshit. He's done it. Multiple times. Once to Rita's Ex-husband. And once to some random guy he ran into at a truck-stop bathroom. Neither were murderers. Rita's Ex was dangerous, and definitely needed to be out of her life. But, he hadn't killed anyone. And the guy in the bathroom? His biggest crime was that he was a rude ******* to an already pissed of Dexter.

I guess you could also say he broke the code a third time when he killed Oscar Prado, though that was out of self-defense (though he was there unlawfully in the first place, so who is really to blame?).

And I suppose you could finally argue he's done it a fourth time, with the creepy child Molester who was also not a murderer. A scumbag who needed to be removed from normal society, sure. But, again, he did NOT fit "Harry's Code." So, writers, quit trying to make Dexter appear to be some unflappable, knight of honor who never swerves from his code. He breaks it almost as many times as starship captains break the Prime Directive.

- The final scene in the shipping container? Sigh. Why even bother trying to making the scene tense when it's extremely obvious what the outcome is going to be. Had they gone with my very first comment, again, it would have made a far more interesting plot thread to unravel for Deb later on.

Come on, writers. You're dropping multiple balls here. I liked what you were trying to do with this season without having a single "Bad Guy" throughout the whole season. But it could have been much, much better. I think this series is continuing to slip from my top 5 favorites. But, I'll stick with it until it gets unbearable. If I could stick through all of Heroes (something I wish I could take back), I can easily stick through some Dexter road bumps.
