I have a really hard time believing that whole "The original, non-special edition movies don't exist anywhere anymore. Nowhere! So shut up, fans who think they can get something simple just because you made me a quintillionaire." when footage like this still exists.

I hope to God that one of Disney's stipulations in acquiring Star Wars was to force George to fess up and hand those reels over. But it's a long shot. Harder than even bullseyeing womp rats in a T-16.

I'm thinking we'll see the original cuts again when Disney releases them (assuming lucas didn't stipulate in the contract they couldn't), or when Lucas dies.

It's just too bad he decided to make it a personal vendetta against the original cuts when everyone hated the Special Edition changes to validate his choices.
