Just watched the pilot.

It seems like a solid hit, but the budget must be pretty substantial. I hope they don't go cheap with the regular episodes to make up for it. It seems there was a push to get the back story framework fleshed out, hopefully they'll fill it in more in the coming season.

Much higher caliber of acting and production than AoS, from the feel I got tonight. I'd say Karl Urban had a lot to do with that. I'll be watching this one.

I enjoyed it as well (thanks, Aereo!). And yeah, the production value was extremely high.

It felt like watching a short movie instead of a television show. I am very much looking forward to what they do in the future.

I liked it too and hope they can maintain the momentum. I also hope they can keep the Sunday 8 PM timeslot to force Fox to clear some of the garbage animation they have currently.

I'm kicking myself for forgetting to DVR it. Fox still partners with Hulu, right?

I've seen the ads on Hulu, so I would assume it may be available on it.

Just checked. It's already up on Hulu.

As for Sunday, nope. Aereo is telling me episode 2 is tonight, and the third is next Monday. So the pilot was on a Sunday but it looks like Mondays are its home.

The adverts reminded me of less of Blade Runner and more of I, Robot, and the last few JJ Abrams-produced things have been stunning disappointments (not even Sam Neill could save Alcatraz).

Although, Wikipedia tells me it was created by JH Wyman, who created the criminally underrated Keen Eddie, so that's a plus.

Fringe started well, but ended poorly.

Alcatraz should have been approached with the same mindset as a BBC or TBS (Tokyo) single season series.

For me, fringe started out much worse. I'm still struggling to finish season one.

A likable character isn't enough to sustain me.

I'm also in, glad there's some solid Sci-fi on again (for these two episodes, at least). They did a great job of building the relationship between Urban and his new partner in the first episode, their chemistry works well. Hoping this one can maintain. I was also worried by the JJ abrams credit, till I realized the show has 9 producers. He's probably involved mostly in name only.

Season 4 of Fringe almost lost me.

I loved 1-3 and 5.

5 was better than 4 and headed in the right direction until they just Deus Exed the entire shebang.

I'm generally willing to forgive a bad season. I still have a hard time watching season 3 of Angel, and Buffy/Angel are my favorite TV series ever.

Season 3? The one with Holtz? That was one of the best ones. Season 4... the one where Connor gets Aunt Cordelia pregnant with a demon goddess that enslaves the world... that one was the worst.

The die hard episode was pretty good. Especially enjoyed him fixing his partner with chewing gum. "B-b-b-b Benny and the Jets!!"
