Never saw them in concert before, so I can't offer "then & now" comparison, but they were strong last night and totally rocked the place. Absolutely worth the ticket price and then some. Damn near the best concert I've ever been to, easily rivaling the Depeche Mode show at Red Rocks last fall.

If they're coming to your town, and you're on the fence about going ... GO!

Nice. I dig a few of their songs. Glad you had a good time!

The wife and I saw Concrete Blond at First Avenue. For those who aren't familiar it's a fairly small venue but still large enough (and famous enough) to attract larger acts.

Jeannette Napolitano (not to be confused with anyone in the political sphere) has a voice that Does. Not. Quit. She did her vocal solo without a mic, and damn near blew the doors off the building.

They also did this amazing mash-up of Whiskey in a Jar and Joey, basically alternating lines and taking Joey from a very sorrowful lament, to a pissed off drunken rant. It was **** awesome.

I was just thinking that a friend of mine's kid used to love Depeche Mode, still think of her like she's 19. Then I realized I haven't seen her in about 18 years and she would be in Shel's age neighborhood anyway. Then I stopped wondering why Shel likes the same band a teenager does.
