As a huge fan of the comics and of Darabont and of AMC in general (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and now Rubicon), I am, suffice to say, extremely excited.

Nice.

I'm going to have to set up my DVR for this one, since I'm never home at night.

Addendum to the original post...looks like AMC liked what they got and commissioned Season 2 already http://www.denofgeek.com/television/581561/the_walking_dead_already_picked_up_for_second_season.html.

Hope it's as good as it's leading me to believe =)

Also something to watch while keeping the front door light off and pretending the doorbell isn't ringing.

At that point, might as well disconnect the doorbell, and get a little peace.

As a new father-to-be...you might want to rethink this! Just saying! :P

Looking forward to watching it in the next day or so.....and am also running through a British series on IFC called "Dead Set" about some people stuck in "Big Brother" while a zombie apocalypse occurs outside...only 5 episodes of appx 30 mins. in length.

So far so good, I mostly wanted to see it, in case they tossed out the "losers" into the zombies ( I hate reality shows!)...so I thought might be funny if it occurred. Sadly no such luck.....but it's interesting.
Typical zombie fare with some character growth exploration since it's 5 episodes. It's partly like the BBC America show "Survivors" that takes place after the flu outbreak.
I'm glad I recorded it...hope you like it also when you watch it. FYI Episode one is longer than the others...appx. 45 mins.

Here's one review I found after I came across the show by accident, minutes before it was to air http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/articles/2010/10/25/dead_set_presents_reality_tv_as_a_safe_haven_and_other_horrors/ and some more off of IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1285482/news.

Edit.....I am only 2 full episodes through as of right now, but still glad I decided to give it a watch. The only actor I can say I've seen somewhere else...is the actor who plays "Joplin".

Hey, we were good, we gave out candy. Eventually you run out though. It kind of cracks me up, with the porch light off our porch is PITCH BLACK, and yet people still walk up and ring the doorbell. Porch light off means no candy!

Also, the walking dead premiere was GREAT. I cannot wait to see how the season fares. Breaking Bad comes back next week as well!

Since when did AMC start making the most amazing shows on television?

Damn DVR didn't record it as I feared. Oh well time to wait for the Thursday 2:00 AM showing.

My wife was really, really looking forward to this one. She spent a whole day watching all the clips on their website before it's airing.

We enjoyed it. I was a little surprised to see a hard-R rating amount of gore in it, but it didn't bother me a whole lot.

Spoiler:
My only beef with it so far: Just how long was he in a coma, and just how long could he survive without having his IV/catheter changed?
