Apparently the avengers are too white and to malefor the NY times amusingly. Guess Black Widow was a man...now that is super spying disguise.

Hmmm...last time I checked, Samuel L. Jackson, while not an Avenger, is black. And he played a pretty big role in saving the planet in the Avengers.

Maybe they googled up immages of the main marvel univere's caucasion Nick Fury to errupt their PC brains. Maybe they can squeeze in a Falcon or Black Panther movie inbetween, so they can join in Avengers 2?

Isn't it kind of racist to expect a forced mixed group of colors and creeds? Haven't we moved on as a society yet?

I look at ads and posters for all different kinds of things and I just feel ashamed that it's still necessary. "Oh yep, there's the black guy. And oh yep, they killed two birds with one stone with the asian woman." I guess flak from enlightened guys like me isn't as bad as it would be coming the ignorant folks who would have an uproar if all nationalities (well, not really, you don't see Middle Eastern represented much.. which, again, racist) aren't shown.

That kind of reminds me of when Spike Lee was pulling his usual routine (not enough blacks!) routine with Clint Eastwood over "Flags of our Fathers". To which Eastwood responded, roughly, "There were no black soldiers on the initial landins at Iwa Jima, I am not altering history to make you feel good."

Oh, they've updated with more info...he's now ALSO creating a 'Marvel-based' TV show for ABC as well. Holy cow. Welcome back to your natural habitat, sir.

Of course, the 4 properties that were getting tossed around as candidates for Marvel Live Action TV last year were The Hulk, Cloak and Dagger, the Punisher, and Daughters of the Dragon.

Only one of which sounds remotely like a decent idea, to me, though Khross made a reasonable argument in support of Cloak and Dagger.

I am uninterested in any of those, to be honest.

There was also A.K.A. Jessica Jones, but I think it was shelved too.

Well, the way I figure it, Daughters of the Dragon is at least street level appropriate material suitable for television budgets, and gets to appeal based on being a sexy ninja paired with a sexy private eye... together, they solve crime!

But in all seriousness, they've got ten times the crossover potential to pull in recognizable Marvel Knights as recurring guest stars/supporting characters (think Daredevil if they can wrestle a re-licensing deal out of Fox, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Moon Knight, the Punisher, etc.) while fitting into a fairly established television niche.

Khross suggested that Cloak and Dagger would be right up Whedon's alley, thematically, as characters. But it also struck me that Whedon could do a lot worse than approach Misty Knight and Colleen Wing with Faith and Buffy in mind...

I doubt they are going to get DD back. There was an article on AICN about Fox giving Marvel the rights to the Silver Surfer and Galactus in order to extend the time needed to get another Dare Devil movie made.

There are rumors of such a deal in talks, AFAICT, but no deal seems to have yet been struck.

So my notion was that Marvel could say "okay, we'll extend your deadline to put another movie out to keep the license afloat by a year or two, but in return, you give us back television rights to Daredevil so he can be a supporting character on our new TV show."

I don't even know what daughters of the dragon is, but out of that list I guarantee that's what Joss is going to aim for. The man has a huge fetish for young women kicking ***.

Well, duh. But it wasn't one of the ones I'd seen any rumor support for.

Should we start two petitions now?
1) Save the (Joss Whedon) show!
2) Bring back the (Joss Whedon) show!

I think this could be very cool depending on how they do it. Plus Whedon is in charge, so it should be good.

Pretty much. I mean, there's a reason the only two ongoing series to have featured S.H.I.E.L.D. agents as a central point are Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Ms. Marvel. And they don't have the budget for Sam on a TV Series, nor to run Carol Danvers in any superheroic fashion. Maria Hill just isn't that interesting, especially not with what we've been given of movieverse Hill, and we killed off Coulson (maybe).

So... I'm just having a difficult time seeing where they think they're going to drum up appeal, which leads me to low expectations. Compare that two some of the options that were being rumored before, that actually had me interested and had a lot of relatability to a TV audience from a high-level concept standpoint, and I'm just baffled.

I still think they bring back Coulson as the Vision.

As for the show... It is still Joss.

I am holding out hopes for a Power Man and Iron Fist musical.
