OK, I finally saw one of the S-models today, walking my son to school. It was an S4. Kind of a garish thing. I can see why you de-badged yours.

I also saw another one the other day, come to think of it - a Quattro S-line, I guess. Now that I know to look for them, maybe I'll see more.

Yeah, the model lineup is
SE (standard edition), Sport, S-Line, S<digit>, RS<digit>

SE->SLine is basically trim & widgets included. S and RS become significantly more powerful, enginewise, and and RS starts to compromise every day comfort for raw handling & sportiness.
