Not to me. I prefer Beatles covers to Beatles songs themselves.

Their cultural impact cannot be overestimated, but the Beatles are highly overrated musically (they're not bad, they're just...overrated).

I lock the doors and close the blinds ...then I sing at the top of my lungs to Mariah Carey..unfortunately I don't come close to hitting the notes she does.. But I try!

About 12 years ago (holy crap has it been that long?) they came to Utah and put on a 100% free concert at the community college. They had the entire original line-up of musicians. It was an extremely awesome concert.

And Kirra, I enjoy Mariah too. :D Mostly due to the fact that "Dreamlover" immediately reminds me of my old high school crush.... but still!

I agree they're good renditions, and they gain points for not really trying to redo the songs so much as keep the exact same song with updated sound... but it's just the principle of the thing! Goes against me somehow.

...but 9 times out of 10 I'll still go for the movie versions. :p

Unrelated note: if I had that dude's (Jim Sturgess) accent I would be approximately 23 times more awesome.
