Pretty good. At least they aren't going overboard with the Nazi comparisons yet. And if they start trying to round up scientists, I'm going to get annoyed.

I'm a bit concerned because they kind of ran too far with it for one episode. They've been skinned already, and the resistance is forming. By the end of the season I suspect we'll be invading their homeworld.

bolded by me. This was my exact impression and problem with the pilot. The pacing was way too fast; it felt like they rushed through too much in one episode.

That was my main problem with the first episode for me also. It seemed like they smashed it all together.
When I watched it a second time, I did notice on the screen it said "three weeks later"(didn't see this the first time) .
This puts it in perspective more...although if they were going to make the resistance that much more clearly formed after 3 weeks; I wish they went to the annoying in your face lettering in Fringe to make the "three weeks later" much more noticeable.

Excellent pilot, but I'm in the same boat as the rest of you, where do they go from here, it was PACKED to the gills. Also:

Spoiler:
Poor Wash, is he cursed?

Regardless, it was a very high quality pilot and I'm interested to see where they're taking it, I'll keep watching. (It's fortunate that it's good, because I'm pretty sure I would watch Morena Baccarin read a phone book. She definitely nails an "otherworldly" feel.)

Advanced alien race...

Cloning seems like the least of their tech skills.

Also, what better way to cover a breach of security than to have someone proclaim 'Oh my god, _____ is an alien, and I killed him in self-defense' only to be dragged to the chief's office where _____ sits, either expressing worry that his partner is unhinged, or sexual harassment, or what have you.

No, just no. It may be dated, but it was brilliant and there is no need to remake "The Prisoner".

She's lost too much weight for her bone structure, and now looks fragile and pointy.

From the pre-reviews (The Prisoner) it seems, not so well. Then again, I've loved shows/movies critics have panned and vice versa.
I didn't want to watch the reimagined BSG when it came out, and eventually did so, but completely by accident; by then I found it to be "promising" to put it lightly.

Ah, don't be too unmutual before we know anything! If it sucks, no one will really notice and we will still have our beloved enigma. If it doesn't suck, and, lord, no, I don't mean in a V or BSG way, well, all the better. As long as they focus on the man-as-an-individual more so than the dystopia vs. utopia part, there is hope.

the pacing didn't bother me. It is welcome opposed to the norm lately where we are watching shows in seaon 5 and wondering when they are going to get their act together. *cough heroes cough*

I decided this week that I'm really unsure if I'm going to keep up with this show.

Some of the primary players are really bad actors, and the slowness of plot progress is agitating to me.

I think if those primary actors were better I'd be more patient for a slow show. After all, I dig The Wire, and that's slow as balls sometimes in terms of plot progression (but the actors are good, and at least minor reveals happen every episode).

Three months is a long time to wait after only getting a taste of the series with four episodes.

I am right there with you. Throw in the fact that it's not going to be back until March, and I see this thing dropping off my radar with a quickness.

Yeah. What on earth inspires networks these days to air 4 weeks and then go on 12+ week hiatus? It's not at all uncommon, and is *really* good at losing my interest.

I mean, I suppose it's probably related to the per-season episode count shrinking steadily, while the premiere/finale schedule hasn't changed significantly.

I think it's related to both the number of episodes per season, but also to how early shows are getting cancelled now. Much cheaper to make 4 episodes, see if there is any viewer interest, and then cancel; then to make an entire season run and then cancel 4 episodes in.

Yeah that's exactly how it was with "30 Days" (a very awesome series by Morgan Spurlock).

I suppose, except how many more viewers might they have?

I stopped watching Lost for exactly this reason.
