The kitchen nightmares and other shows where he goes and helps people out, you can see him interact with people a bit more unscripted. And not all of it is insults. He sometimes has to break people down in order to build them back up, and that's even gotten him close to some fistfights.
But he's Scottish. What do you expect?
And Mus, I agree. Joe is generally the far more critical and brutal of the three. Gordon has himself far more toned-down specifically for Master Chef.
