Well then. I really hope this is good...but we've been burned so bad before with the other film. I mean, it looks like it is trying pretty hard to stay close to the original source material...but I just can't get excited about it yet. I need more time! |

If there are no godzilla babies that recreate scenes from Jurassic Park, I will like this movie. |

Was in awe. Comic-Con audiences reportedly shat their pants as well. Very, very excited. |

Huh. There are a lot of feet with claws in that third shot. Looks interesting, though, looks like it's moving north from the LA harbor through South Central, toward downtown. Hopefully they stop it before it gets to our house. |

And poor dubbing. Also, Godzilla **** up Tokyo, not some U.S. city. |

Godzilla =/ Godzilla sequels. Godzilla is a dark, terrifying film about a man-made disaster that strikes with unimaginable ferocity; a nuclear bomb that walks on land. The sequels and spinoffs are silly, goofy things, but Godzilla is not. |

This is not your man-in-a-suit-mation. This is kaiju terrifying. I can't wait! |

Ok, that was an awesome trailer. Let's hope Godzilla gets to be scary again, and that it wipes the time girl godzilla chased around Ferris Bueller from our collective memories. |

That trailer made me want to see the movie more than I already do. I like this new Cthulu approach to Godzilla. Sure, I know he was born of the nuclear scare in the '50s but I like this update better. Edit: Hmmm. Well, I may be remembering incorrectly. I haven't seen the original in decades. But now my memory is saying that godzilla wasn't a mutation, but was an ancient being awoken by the nuclear testing. Either way, I like the idea of "ancient mythic creature" far more than "mutation." To me, it makes the size and fire-breathing more palatable. |

So its Godzilla vs. Other Kaiju Thingy? And why do helicopters and aircraft always fly within swatting distance? Do movie makers know nothing about standoff range? Its not like the 30MM cannon on an Apache is any more lethal at 50' as opposed to 500M. |

Isn't it always Godzilla vs. Kaiju (trans: strange creature) thing? |

So, wait, _this_ movie is Godzilla fighting other creatures on behalf of mankind? That just seems ... rushed, to me. I would prefer something like Terminator, where he's evil in the first one, then turns good guy (cyborg) in the second. Of course, that was a function of star power, but, still, I'd rather see the first one as a bad monster, and then a sequel where it turns out that it's one of the good guys. |

He doesn't fight on behalf of mankind and never has. He is the King of Monsters, and this mother f'er needs to be put in his place. Humans be damned. |
