The Glade 4.0

I really enjoyed Tinman and other reinterpretations of classics so I was really hoping Alice would match. So far pretty darn crappy though. Anyone else catch it?

It was about as good as I expected, which was around Tin Man level (maybe a bit below). Some interesting ideas, but blasé in its execution. I was particularly chagrined to see it take its fantastical source material and smelt it into the mundane, Carrol's psychedelic prose and wonderfully insane characters in the service of a plain-jane "reimagining" with less imagination than it had originally.

Looking forward to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland much more.

I also really enjoy seeing classic stories retold (in fact, I'm rather fascinated by the idea), but this take is far too commonplace for me. At least they're not dragging it out to six hours like they did Tin Man (one of my biggest problems with that miniseries; cut two hours out of it and I think you'd have a much better work).
