So, I know Noggel has read The Way of Kings, anybody else? And Noggel, I just finished Words of Radiance, how 'bout you? To those who haven't read.. I can't recommend it highly enough. This setting has really put the "Fantasy" back into "High Fantasy" for me. It's been really refreshing to read a compelling fantasy story where I'm as intrigued to learn more about the flora and fauna of the world as I am the magic and cultures, none of which are very vanilla at all, by the way, and all of which is just as interesting and compelling as the plot itself. |

I plan on reading Way of Kings. I hear it's really good. Words of Radiance is sitting unwrapped at my house, as my wife purchased it for herself. Brandon Sanderson is currently my favorite author, but I still have yet to read any of his books. How does that work? It just does. I just need to find the time to read and when I do I will start with Way of Kings. |

I haven't read it yet, my next Sanderson title to read is Warbreaker. I'll get around to it, though. |

I've read all the Mistborn books (loved these) and Steelheart (was ok). I'll add Stormlight Archives to my list! |

Yeah, Mistborn is on my list (particularly as I realize that most of Sanderson's original stuff shares a creation mythology that's obliquely alluded to in each individual world), but it has to wait until after the upcoming Dresden Files book. |

If you guys ever come out to Utah, this guy is constantly making rounds for book signings. But, more importantly, he is very much known to attend Magic: The Gathering sealed deck tournaments. Super nice guy. Quite down to earth and very understanding of his more star-struck fans. One kid I saw had a hard time saying anything when it was his turn to meet him. So Brandon helped him out by being patient and politely drawing questions out of him. Terry Goodkind and Patrick Rothfuss would not do something like this. |

I've been to two of his WoT signings and a convention panel or two. He's definitely a personable, lovably humble guy. |

Totally LTTP here, but a friend introduced me to Sanderson and I've been reading (aka listening to the audio books) of his stuff. The first Mistborn Trilogy, the Alloy of Law, Stormlight, Steelheart, etc... Good stuff |

Not sure if you guys are interested, but the company which releases the Mistborn RPG is doing a kickstarter for a custom set of Misttborn dice using the allomancy symbols |

I liked them both, and I'm looking forward to the next one. I read Mistborn after reading the last WoT book. The one spin-off I read was pretty bad though, and I almost stopped reading it. WTF happened there? Mistborn is kinda like a fantasy Battle Angel Alita. Alita is also a small dark haired girl. The action ramps up in a very anime-ish way as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if he got some inspiration from there. |

You mean Alloy of Law? I didn't think it was bad. You have to take it for what it is. The setting changed after Hero of Ages. It's not the same world anymore, in a number of senses. So you have to reset your expectations of what is occurring. |

IIRC the Mistborn stuff is/was going to be three trilogies - high fantasy, steampunk/modern, and sci fi - all powered by allomancy and the other two powers |

It seemed like another person wrote it. |
