The Glade 4.0

No, it's not a porno, though the movie does involve erotica. The premise is a "Woman" (Marianna Parker) rents erotic films from a video store where a "Man" (Jason Ritter) works. He tries to pursue a relationship with her and the movie basically chronicles their dysfunctional pursuit of one another.

While the screen writing wasn't spectacular, it was captivating enough to get you through with a solid amount of momentum and the film thankfully doesn't embellish certain shots too much, only enough to achieve the desired effect. The camerawork and editing worked well with the style of the film. I liked the characters at the video store; they served their purpose without being shallow nor unbelievable.

There were also some clever visual metaphors scatters throughout. Lighting was damned near artful. Underscored by mostly "post-modern" rock bands (think God Speed You Black Emperor or Explosions in the Sky).

Pretty good flick, check it if you get the chance.
