ABC's bloodbath yesterday left another casualty, that of Galavant, the weird little half-hour fantasy musical thing. I watched the first couple of episodes, and it was kind of cute, then set it aside. Somewhere near the end of the second season airing, I decided to pick it back up, and devoured the entire thing. It was just so, so, so good. So much fun, so funny and sweet and clever and good. No one expected it to get a third season (they weren't even expecting a season two, despite season one ending on a cliffhanger, see below), but it actually wound up being kinda perfect in its two short seasons.

RIP, Galavant.

Goodbye
Yes, it's time to say goodbye
Sad, I know, but, hey, you're done with living
It's time to give in and go
and so, goodbye

Funny how the time did fly
Really, it's a crime
You're heading for forever
To the great big whatever
In the sky

I quite enjoyed it, as well. Two seasons was probably good. I'd hate for it to get old.

I kind of feel like it ended perfectly and am somehow grateful that there won’t be the opportunity for disappointment. It’s a show (like Hannibal, oddly enough) that seemed to constantly be walking the tightrope and never slipped, but each step forward made me more and more nervous that it would come tumbling down.

I'd be happy if it went on for longer, as they never failed to embrace the campiness of what it was, but I'm also OK with it ending on a high note. Loved every minute of it.
