Debbie Reynolds announced a couple of hours ago that she's now in stable condition.

The damage to her heart was done a long time ago. When John Belushi tells you that you're doing too much cocaine, you're doing too much **** cocaine.

I can't believe she's gone. :(

I was 7 years old when ROTJ came out, but to my young mind, she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She was, literally, the first crush I ever had.

She's in a galaxy far, far away now, and our world is a lot less bright, as a result.

A lot of us are the same way.

Well, evidently "a long time ago" meant "ongoing and current."

Carrie Fisher had cocaine, heroin, and ecstasy in her system when she died.

I'm guessing it was more of a Marid Audran situation -- constantly and (not-so) carefully tweaking your pharma cocktail to maintain the perfect state of consciousness at any given moment.

That explains the "Force Awakens" plot then; they could have come up with a better course of action than another X-wing attack if the general wasn't high the entire time.

Based on prior experience, X-Wing attacks are highly effective strategies.

I know right. They're like 3 for 3 in blowing up Empire Superweapons.

True, the Falcon is kind of the Republic's superweapon.

Asymmetrical ships are invincible.

It's because Imperial pilots and gunners keep shooting to the (craft's perspective) right of the cockpit.

They need a software upgrade.

(In the trench attack scene, we see that the fighters of both sides need to lock on to enemy fighters in order to hit them, and we can see Vader's laser streams adjusting automatically onto the rebel fighters. This makes perfect sense; while force-sensitives like Vader and Luke might be able to hit without computer targeting, regular pilots no doubt require it. Most ships we see do have the cockpit center-mass; the Falcon is highly unusual and the software probably automatically aims center mass.)
