Mother ****... I have read the book start to finish about 15 times over the last 25 years or so. I happen to think it is by far King's best work. Even with the questionable act of having a bunch of kids run a train on an 8th grader, it is by far one of my favorite books period. So, I went to the theater this weekend. While the movie lacks the depth of the book, had they done everything with just the kids, it could have been a 4 hour movie. I freaking loved it. So much. It had all the heart of the book in a way I did not expect. I honestly walked out of the theater with tears in my eyes. I was just that happy with it. I want to see an extended cut. I will be going again. My biggest *****, Bill didn't say mother **** enough. |

Raell, I wholeheartedly agree. They diverged from the book just enough to not make it a pedo fest. A few changes that bothered me, but still 9.5 out of 10 as far as I am concerned. I am really glad I saw this one in the theater, and want to go back again to see it without the tribe of loud rude mother **** sitting next to me and the wife in the theater. |

Totally agreed. I paid for it the next day, having to finish the movie, drive two hours, and only get around two hours of sleep before a video shoot the next morning, but I was too excited to miss the Thursday evening preview showing. I absolutely adored it. It's not flawless, but it was perfect. When my biggest complaint about a 140-minute film is that I wanted to see more of it, you've done something incredibly right. |

So they actually made a good stephen king movie? Few and far between. I'll check it out - thanks. |

Took it in again over the weekend. Did kids in 89 really use backpacks that much? I don't remember. I used a gym bag for everything but I don't remember back packs being used every day like that. So, Amy Adams for grown up Bev? |

As someone who was 7 in 1989, I'm going with a firm "yes" on the backpack thing. And yep, they were JanSports. |

That might've been more of a New England thing, though, given it's based in Maine. Might also have been a class thing, too, since most of my classmates were pretty well off and LL Bean backpacks weren't cheap. |

Maybe that is what it is, I was poor and so were most of my friends. I used the same gym bag for four years of high school. |
