That's all kinda cool and I'm looking forward to this. I loved Kane and also The Rook. The Rook has a great concept. Wish they would have done more with that.

Me, too. I have not found it on-line yet, though.

Look for cavalier hats. Puritan hats tend to be made of felt, the one Solomon is wearing looks to be leather, as many of the cavalier hats are. The cut of the Puritan and Cavalier hats is basically the same, you just add decoration to the cavalier that the puritans would never have worn. You should get more options with the cavalier line.

Character looks an awful lot like Van Helsing.

A reproduction of the hat Hugh Jackman wore can be purchased here, but is ridiculously expensive and to my eye just doesn't look as cool as Solomon Kane's hat.

Is this based on a comic book or something? Dude kinda looked like the Undertaker.

Robert E. Howard (Conan, Kull, etc.) started writing the stories in 1928. He died in 1936. Pulp fiction, some of the best of the time. From the trailer, the stories Howard wrote are being used to make the movie.

It's really astounding to me how strongly pulp seems to be making a resurgence today.

Which makes me all the more hopeful that Smith and Tinker capitalizes quickly on their desire to relaunch the Crimson Skies franchise. In a big way, I hope -- I'd love to see them return to the PC with the same smarter flight model the PC uses (vs. the X-Box's High Road to Revenge title's purely action-based flight model with the barest nod to flight physics), and release more books (translate the remaining 4 German and Spanish ones, to start!) and even, I suspect, license a movie, because I imagine that could do astonishingly well...

Play more Savage Worlds. Their settings are very pulp-oriented.

Indeed, Savage Worlds would definitely be my choice for a companion system in a ground/air Crimson Skies campaign.

Just watched Solomon Kane with Phe. Fan-friggin'-tastic. Why the hell has this never gotten a US release?! It's been released theatrically and on video everywhere else in the effing world.

Because it was fan-friggin-tastic and it competed with a bunch of huge hollywood releases at the time it was made. Why it hasn't been picked up in a slow period for distribution I don't know.

Really, the guys who made it did such a good job on a low budget it threatened the status quo.

A friend of mine has a tech wizard friend who while during some time he was in Europe, took an English DVD and transferred it to American format and brought it home with him.

I had to, uh, acquire it. Because I'd waited two years for a US release and with none forthcoming, got proactive.
