I'm interested, but . . .

Too tired to go see it today, maybe tomorrow.

Just got back.

Just gonna say that I had to inject myself with an extra dose of macho the last 5 minutes of the movie.

TOY STORY 3: brilliant. Thrilling, hilarious, heartrending. It's cliche to say at this point, but Pixar's done it again. Utterly fantastic. Best movie of the year so far, and I don't really see anything likely to top it.

And of course if you hop over to rottentomatoes.com, the eternal troll Armond White has given the film a negative review (not sure if anyone else has been following this piece of ****).

Yeah he essentially says Transformers 2 had better points. I read a few of his results, is he the Fred Phelps of movie reviewers? Just so out there it's nuts?

Pretty much but he's smarter, he knows what he's doing, he's an intentional attention-whore troll. Oh wait, that's what Fred Phelps is.

This movie was so good. It seemed like they wrote it for the people who saw the first one 15 years ago, and not so much for a children just seeing them now. I remember going to see the first as a teenager. It was the first movie I ever bought I liked it so much. Best movie I've seen all year.

There was a nice quote I saw in a review that posited that there were two kinds of people in the world: those who cried during the "When Somebody Loved Me" sequence in Toy Story 2, and those who lied about not crying during it. I'd wager that goes double for this one.

To be honest, while this one really touched me, that sequence in the second kind of irritated me. I think it had something to do with the song. I don't know what it is about it, but I didn't like that part of the movie.

Ya know, I haven't seen the second one yet?! Took me a few years to see the first one, actually. I hope to see this soon and blow a bunch of money on it in 3-D.

Wow. I was pretty weepy during the tough parts. Kept trying to tell myself it was just a movie, and it wasn't working.

Good ending,

Took the wife and kids to this one today. Fantastic movie. We all loved it, and I'm man enough to say that I teared up at the end. Definitely buying this one when it comes out on DVD.

My wife took the kids on Sunday (while I got to watch the Dodgers blow a 4-run lead in the top of the 9th to the Yankees. Shoulda gone to the movie. :D). She said that our 5-year old found it a bit scary in a few parts. Maybe it was just the emotional impact? Either that or the Teddy Bear?

My son ( just shy of 5) had been waiting for TS3 to arrive for over a year. We went opening day, and all 4 of us loved it. We're gonna go back tomorrow afternoon.

Great story, and yeah - Pixar can knock it out of the park. Amazing how they can continue to make movies that simultaneously entertain kids & tug at parents/adults all in the same scene.

Of course, TS has never left our household since my daughter saw the first one at ~3y.o. (6 years). Buzz & Woody have been household names seemingly forever. We're even doing a TS b-day party for my son in a couple of weeks.
