Damn good start, especially the lead in to the show. I'm sure compelled to keep watching. :)

I made my roommate a deal that I would watch Lost, start to current, if he would play Mass Effect. He ended up finishing ME by the time I started season two. Unfortunately I work 14 hour days most of the week and didn't have the time for my end of the bargain and I had to watch the one-hour recap episode.

Mind blown.

Didn't have time to watch the two premier eps yet, but I will tonight probably.

This show is still on? I thought they had "the final seaon" a couple of years ago, or am i just confused.

You are confused. The final season is this year. It has not been on TV since last year and there was a lot of hype surrounding the "final season" so maybe you just assumed it was over.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Spoiler:
Well, so far, it looks like this whole battle between good and evil. Jacob is good and the other guy that took over Locke's body is evil. Its actually turned very much into a parallel of God vs Satan in a very biblical way even down to the "why are we here" thing. Evil guy is trying to recruit Sawyer by telling him he has all the answers that Sawyer wants, but is just using him really....kind of like the devil tempts people. Jacob understands that people like Hurley who just believe without question, (child-like faith?) can be told things outright. People like Jack (doubting Thomas?) need to be led and not shown...they need to find things for themselves.
I like how Jacob seems to have this plan, but part of the plan is not telling them what the plan is...this whole time, they are supposed to just trust and have faith. Even after seeming failure...Jacks faith was shaken after the bomb didn't work...Sawyer turned to the bad side after his faith was shaken, but Jack is keeping his faith even in the face of uncertainty.

I really like how this is turning out. This is just my take on the whole thing though.

So, you're saying it's not just a game?!

Funny, I was just thinking last night that I should ask someone here for spoilers and a take on what's going on, since I'm never going to sit down and watch it, and I'm kind of idly curious how it's going to resolve. Have to say, your take on it is much cooler than the idea that it's a game being played by two dorks somewhere.

This is what i've seen/thought so far....just some things in this last episode which are throwing some walls up and confusing me....maybe not so much confusing me but they have me wondering where things are fitting now.

I feel like the whole good vs evil thing is too simplistic and would ultimately be a let down. I'm hoping it's more convoluted and though out than that. I want to believe that Jacob wearing white, and Esau wearing black are just red herrings.

Really, Lenas? I rather like the way its turning out, but you're probably right.
What are some of your thoughts about where it might be headed?

Ultimately I feel like the "alternate" timeline that they're showing us right now isn't alternate at all. I feel like we're getting glimpses of the ending, in chunks.

If that doesn't work out, my other inclination is to believe that Jack and Sawyer will become the new Jacob/Esau. Stuck on the island, "immortal" for an indefinite amount of time.

I have yet to create a theory as to the why.

Oooooo thats pretty cool. Jack and Sawyer, huh....what about Esau trying to get off the island?

Hmmm. So what will happen to Jacob and Esau if Jack and Sawyer take their places?

They get a spinoff show: "Found"

Well, Jacob is already dead. Esau will follow in those steps. Perhaps the second he leaves the island, his immortality will fade and he'll turn to dust?

I dunno!
