We have a lot of good minds here. This should be fun and helpful.

I read a book a number of years ago about a woman who wound up going on a "walk-about" with the aboriginals/aborigine in Australia and the book was pretty awesome and had some great funny moments. Like, she always died her hair blonde and halfway through the walkabout her hair had grown out enough that her brown roots were showing so the natives concluded that she was becoming one of them and her hair was changing colors. In the middle of the desert outback she scratched a mosquito bite and everyone laughed because that was sign language for "I just saw an alligator" and they were like a 6 week walk in any direction from any body of water. Good book...I'd like to read it again if I could find the title.

Another book I don't remember that much except that it was about the South American Cogi and they described how the elders lived in the mountains and no one ever saw them because they communicated telepathically with the tribe. Supposedly a true anthropological study I think but it was a really interesting read.

Also, there was a movie I liked about a little Irish boy maybe, who wanted to be a ballet dancer?

Heh I actually have that book, I had to read it and the Dirk Benedict book about his battle with cancer for a Sociology class in college. The book you're referring to is Mutant Message Down Under by Marlo Morgan. I actually have it here...

Yeah!!! Sweet! Thank you! I loved that book so much I read it like 5 or 6 times but that was years ago....do you like it? For some reason I really dig anthropological/biographical type stuff. Like 'Watch For Me on the Mountain'.
If you like the Mutant Message book then you might like 'The Innocent Anthropologist.' I had to read it for a class in college but liked it so much I kept it and I reread it every few months.
Thanks!!! I'm going to the library next week to get that book. :)

I've read it a few times over the years, it's kind of an interesting story. It'd been sitting in a box at my parent's house for years, finally got it back about 3 years ago and read it then.
