I saw this yesterday and I agree it looks pretty good. Please remember, it's only produced by Michael Bay, not directed!

I don't know whats up with the beginning, though. I hope they don't try to humanize Freddy and give him some kind of justification for the murders.

You know... seeing Michael Bay involved actually excited me... see unlike 75% to 85% of this board I do not have some sort of hard on for hating Michael Bay. True his works are not as good as say.... Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter or Platoon of the Dead but he has some talent.

And really... what work has this guy done that is all that bad?

directing goodies:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Transformers (2007)
The Island (2005)
Bad Boys II (2003)
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Armageddon (1998/I)
The Rock (1996)
Bad Boys (1995)

producer goodies:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Friday the 13th (2009)
The Unborn (2009)
Transformers (2007)
The Hitcher (2007)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)
The Island (2005)
The Amityville Horror (2005)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Armageddon (1998/I)

I do not get the unrelenting hatred so many people here have for the man. Was he caught snorting blow off one of the gladers mothers asses or something?

Personally; I love 4 of the movies on that directing list, and 9 of the movies on his production list. I enjoyed the rest of them.

He's made one great film, which I do believe is truly great: The Rock.

The Island was passable.

Armageddon, I love it. No matter how silly it is, I love it.

I think Michael Bay is extremely good at what he does: create mindless action flicks with lots of awesome.

It's when he ventures from that realm that he gets into trouble.

With the exception of The Rock, which wasn't mindless, and was his best movie by far.
