I saw this on Netflix streaming, but never gave it much thought. But then I had a friend recommend giving it a watch. So I did. And I found myself watching 6 episodes in a row.

If American Choppers and the Antiques Roadshow got together for a steamy night of passion and romance, and nine months later had a kid, Pawn Stars would be the result of that illicit affair.

It's basically a reality show about this family that runs a pawn shop in vegas, and the stuff they see come into their store. It's hard to describe without making it sound lame, but I am really digging the show so far.

They have some cool stuff on there. I don't watch regular but I've caught it on a time or two.

Fun show. Sometimes they do marathons of it and I'll watch several in a row, but I don't make a habit of watching it. I think it's on late at night if I remember right.

If I were less lazy I would set it to DVR. It'd be great to have on tap for those 'nothings on, check the DVR' moments.

Law & Order is my go-to show for this, though I have a few others. The great part about L&O is, since TNT airs it constantly, you have an ever-revolving set.

I enjoy Pawn Stars when they're not doing the drama of the kid ****, etc. I'm never really sure if the father (not grandpa) really does know all the stuff he talks about, though.

The grandpa reminds me of the dad from "Big Fish" both in terms of looks and voice.

I like watching it just to see what people bring in, but the interaction between the family is pretty dysfunctional. I actually like watching the show where the guys go around buying antiques of stuff, American Pickers I think it's called.

my favorite episode was when they had a Soviet Missile Launch key on the show.

My favorite was the one where a lady came in with a Faberge broach and wanted $1k for it. He told her it was worth $25k, so then she asked for $28k.

I have to say, I'd put this show pretty far into the 'auction' category and only very slightly into 'reality'. Most of the non-auction stuff is kept extremely limited in duration.

I try not to go out of my way to watch television, but if I come across this already on I usually end up staying against my will to watch it!

...though part of me has to hope that youngest son is hamming it up a little. He reminds me of a dog. He's always around, doesn't participate in the conversation all that much, slow to respond like a lazy dog... even gets scolded in the same fashion as a dog. I am continually surprised when he shows signs of higher intelligence.
