Less cheese than Batman & Robin. A little less.

I kinda like it but it is doomed by Summer.

Damn. Should've known better in the Entertainment forum, but I kinda expected this thread to be about The Cape I grew up in:

I am indifferent to this show. The writing and directing (interesting that the pilot had a different director then episode 1) are bad but I have hopes they can right the ship.

This. I try to remember how stiff some of the shows I like now were their first few episodes... I just went back and started re-watching Sanctuary with my wife (she hasn't seen it yet), and the first season is so much worse than the current one- the writing and directing seems so much more cliched and flat.

I'm hoping Cape develops in a similar fashion.

The first season of so many great shows is awful. Watch the first season of Star Trek: TNG. Excruciating. Yet still, probably the best Star Trek series.

I feel like this is one of the reasons we won't see truly great slow building shows in the future. Shows these days aren't allowed to progress past the first season if they're not incredible out of the gate.

It was okay. The fact that I'll already be on that channel when nine rolls around helps it.

While I'm on that subject why is it taking 3 weeks after Christmas for Chuck and NCIS to come back?

I have hopes as well but considering it is network TV I am not holding my breath that they continue to pay for it beyond this season.

Ditto, but the guy playing the hero is starting to grate on my nerves.

Yup, that's pretty much the nail in the coffin. I'm waiting to see if it gets past S1 before I check it out. :)

It's already gotten its order for episodes this season reduced from 13 down to 10.

Call the undertaker, begin making the preparations.

I watched the last episode. It was pretty terrible.

Agreed. They are rushing too quickly. It'd be one thing if the characters had universally known backstories (like Batman, Superman) then they could probably gloss over things but as it stands now every one feels like 1/2 a character.

Meh.

I'm probably done with this show. I still don't feel invested in the characters or story after five episodes.

Last four episodes were pretty good. THey could have wrapped up the whole thing with a couple more. Finished the story anyway. Oh well.

Too bad they didn't finish this. It was pure campy comic book fun. You can almost see the speech balloons beside the character's heads as they speak.
