The Glade 4.0

Has anyone else here ever watched this show?

I find it strangely compelling, but also very nerve-wracking. There is no way I could be on that show -- I simply could not develop that close of a relationship with someone, only to potentially turn them away (on a glorified game show no less).

This season is supposedly controversial, due to their choice of bachelor, who stood up the final two women the last time he was on.

You need to realize that this entire show is scripted. Don't believe for a second that this is real.

I dunno. While I think that an awful lot of the situations on the show are probably "nudged" or manipulated in the direction of getting a specific or predictable reaction, I'm not so convinced that it's 100% a set up.

Then you are the target audience.

I watched one of the first seasons and it might have been the worst reality show I ever saw. At least Flavor of Love and Rock of Love had some amazing skanks we could laugh at.

I wouldn't say it that way, but I agree with Talya.

Serious? The girls are there hoping to get an offer for a playboy centerfold and to be "discovered" than looking for a lasting relationship and marriage.

I'm pretty skeptical myself.

While I dispise reality TV, at one of my old bases we worked nights and someone brought in a series I was captivated by. I don't know how "real" it was, but it was kind of complelling. It was a fake reality show, kind of like real world I guess, where all but one of the "contestants" were actors trying to make sure the one guy won. It was really strange, but sort of interesting. The actors were always afraid he'd figure out it was a sham.

I haven't watched TV in years, but what I remember about reality TV is that is disgustingly shameless.

Well, if it is all fake, then they spared no expense. One season of Bachelor must have a pretty insane budget.

They save on the front end by not requiring casting, scripts, or anything requiring production values.

Maybe they charge all the girls for the chance to meet the man of their dreams on a TV show..so they can get married and live happily ever after. How many success stories versus how many episodes should give you the answer about how real this show is.
