Tomorrow sees the release of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, an adaptation of the second arc in Jeph Loeb's Superman/Batman comic. Happily, Tim Daly returns as Superman, and, most importantly, Kevin Conroy returns as Batman.

And the trailer for the next release, All-Star Superman (based on the Grant Morrison [ugh] series of the same name) has just been released:

I wish these were part of the DCAU continuity, but they're still quite good.

Now with that said, I have another complaint. The DCAU cartoons were generally fully suitable for my 7 year old son. These direct-to-DVD Bruce Timm DC comics movies have, in general, been less than appropriate for younger children, with PG-13 level violence, language and sexual content. I am certainly not a prude, but my son loves superheroes -- and it's easier for me to show him an Iron Man or Hulk live action movie than to show him these cartoons.

Under The Red Hood was brutal. Granted, I loved it but it was not made for kids.
