I always read them. I don't always agree with them, but they are always well thought out and give me something to think about. Of course, that's the glorious thing about entertainment -- it's all subjective. What appeals to one person won't appeal to another, variety is the spice of life. However, you have, at the very least, similar tastes as mine. The overlap is greater than the disagreements.

Kaffis, on the other hand, is now batting 1.000 with recommendations to me, since my about-face on the TV series "Chuck." Damn, Kaffis.

I read a quote from Roger Ebert that said (paraphrased) "The purpose of good criticism is not just to give your own opinion of the work, but to give your audience enough information that by the end of the review, whether or not you liked the work, they will know if they will like the work."

That's what I strive to do, though some targets are just so terrible, large and slow-moving (like, say, Voyage of the Dawn Treader or Vanishing on 7th Street) that I can't help myself; I just want to fire on them with everything in my arsenal.
