Phe and I just started watching DOCTOR WHO tonight...the 2005 reboot with Christopher Eccleston (thanks, Netflix!). Never seen anything WHO-related before. Watched the first two episodes, just starting the third. I like it. :)

It gets better :)

<3 Tennant, and I never thought I'd like another person playing the Doctor, but Matt Smith is amazing as well.

Course, it helps that I've got a huge crush on Amy Pond ;)

But that's a long way off for you Mr. Skee.

Btw, Netflix has the Ninth and Tenth Doctor series, but only Amazon Prime's free streaming has the Eccleston series in widescreen. Looks better, too...higher-quality encode.

Don't forget the option of Amazon streaming instant video, if you're an Amazon prime member. I know they have the "newer" Who seasons, and I just looked, the also have bits of the original series available also.

It's not really a "reboot." It follows in the same continuity of the previous 700-ish episodes over the previous 42 years.

Quick question: where do the "David Tennant specials" I see in Amazon Prime streaming fit in?

I'm not sure. I don't think I've seen any of those. Eccleston's 9, Tennant's 10, and Smith is 11. If they fit in anywhere, it'd probably be in one of Ten's seasons.

Most of the specials were "Christmas Specials", but then there were also some that were transitional at the end of seasons.

If you tell us the names of the specials, it will be easier to say where they fit in.

These are listed under a separate section in Amazon Prime free streaming, called Doctor Who: The David Tennant Specials:

"The Next Doctor"
"Planet of the Dead"
"The Waters of Mars"
"The End of Time"

Those are between the 'Let's see Sarah Jane and Mickey and Harkness and ...' season finale and 'Oh look, there's this redhead called Amelia Pond'

199 — "The Next Doctor"

200 — "Planet of the Dead"

201 — "The Waters of Mars"

202 — "The End of Time"

203 — "The Eleventh Hour" — AKA Meet Amelia Pond

Those specials were David Tenant's last year as The Doctor, without a companion.

Funniest part about the second photo is that the Dalek wasn't expecting to see a Doctor at the party... and I certainly wasn't expecting to see a Dalek.

My wife loved Tennant so much that she refused to watch any of the new seasons. She just would not accept the new Doctor. Now that season 5 is on netflix and I amwatching them whether she likes it or not, she is coming around. I like the new dude. He's no Tennant, but he's still cool.

(My wife loved my hair that way so much, that she forced me not to go back to my middle-part. I am still doing the rock-a-billy messy look to this day)
