I set it up to record on the DVR, but I was not excited about watching it.

Now that you say it's a great show, I am excited about watching it.

I am concerned about how they will stretch this into a season though.

That's been my biggest curiosity with the premise of the show...how to handle a non-anthological, non-procedural, non-monster-of-the-week narrative, weekly horror show.

It kind of feels like a serialized version of "The Shining" but I don't know far out you can stretch the premise. Six episodes maybe certainly not two seasons though.

Joe Hill, son of Stephen King (and an damned fine author himself), had this to say:

For anyone who missed it last night, catch up on American Horror Story ASAP. Sick, dirty, scary, funny, awesome. I seriously have doubts about their ability to keep the story going past 6 episodes (Like, uh, why wouldn't the family just move out?) BUT! Right here and now, in this particular moment, it's the most exciting thing on TV.

Ok, I watched the first one.

/wrist fail

If it makes you cry you are doing it wrong.

It is interesting though, I will keep watching.

Really interested to see how this one progresses. Also, I would like one of those camouflage hot maids now please.

From what I've read, it appears that it may change casts periodically. If so, that would alleviate one major worry that I have for it, which is that it's hard to build threat in an episodic series with a locked-in cast.

Ooohhh, that sounds pretty good. Killing off a regular is always good for raising tension.

So did anyone else watch the whole season? Really impressed by the end.

Spoiler:
I was really thinking the father might actually make it out with the baby at the end of the last episode, was impressed they ended up with the whole family trapped in the house, and the Christmas scene was a nice warm wrap-up.

Definitely looking forward to season 2.

I agree. From what I hear of Season 2 it is a new house and new family. Some of the current cast will make cameos which I assume means Constance and the baby.
