Is a filter when you're browsing on Xbox 360 or PS3. "Do not show me any titles under 2 stars".

Then, you could pick what you wanted to watch from the 4 remaining streaming titles.

Yeah, but the two stars are not based on other users or professional critic's reviews, they are based on what they "think" you might like based on your viewing choices.

That would be another nice filter. "Professional reviews only."

Regardless, while I agree that 3-5 stars are not always representative of what I think of a film, it's pretty rare that I watch something under 2 stars by their ranking system that turns out to be good.

That just means their ranking system is accurately predicting your taste.

It's personalized based on what you've ranked yourself, not an objective universal ranking.

So it's not that Streaming is full of bad movies. It's simply that streaming is full of movies that aren't your bag. Given what I seem to recall about your taste, this doesn't surprise me -- you're simply a niche audience that they haven't built up a large streaming catalogue for yet.

It's cool that it works for you, Darkroland, but we've got 4 different people in our house watching entirely different things....NF gets kind of miffed when it suggests 4 stars for "Sponge Bob the movie" and "Sex in The City" hahaha!
So, agreed, professional reviews only would be nice.

Oh, I agree that their streaming catalog has grown by leaps and bounds since the service began (man was it bad then), but this was more a commentary on the clunky interface on the xbox/PS3 than on their catalog, no filtering of any kind. It's either search, or scroll through hundreds of titles with no information other than the box cover without delving deeper into the interface. The "4 titles remaining" line was actually meant to be a joke. (Although now I am kind of curious what you recall about my taste. :)

P.S. LK, he should know that Spongebob the movie is at least 4 stars. If for the hasslehoff scene alone.

Bah. I was thinking this was a Darksiege thread, so I was going to say gruesome horror.

I can keep you two "Dark" names straight in my head only so long as I'm staring at them. ;)

You can't judge all Dark's the same way. Even a Dark Lord of the Sith needs to break loose once in a while.

(Yes, I did just use this post as a lame excuse to post this awesome vidoe. Don't judge me.)

Actually, what you guys need is individual-specific streaming queues. Cuz "Spongebob" and "Sex and the City" might both be worth 4 stars as excellently executed movies within their own genres, but that doesn't mean everybody's gonna like 'em. So "professional reviews only" would still be occasionally misleading.

I thought the answer to this thread's question was going to be "porn."

I watched a couple of TV episodes on my 360 using Netflix Instant Watch (out of my queue) this weekend. The interface locked up when the show was over. Had to power cycle both times.

Anyone else having this problem?
