I hope it is as amazing as the book.

Why is no one talking about what will likely take Best Picture at the Oscars?

Looks like fun, and seems very familiar.

Also, you owe it to yourself to buy the actual hardcover. An e-book will be fantastically insufficient.

I hope this isn't one of those movies where "3D" was used in an attempt to make up for weak story.

Also, what sort of monumental douchebag sets a doberman on a kid? Jeebus.

...

Fairly certain that had one clicked the link in the first post, one would have some understanding of why 3D was being used in this movie.

Looks like a fun and entertaining movie, and I will be getting the book. Thank you for the suggestions Khross.

Kinda like Star Wars was just a bunch of people flying around in space ships and fighting with light sabers?

At least my ponies have depth.

As long as great titles like Jackass and Hard an Kumar 3 are in 3D, it will have a hard time getting over the gimmick status

I did, and I don't. Any chance you'd care to be less obscure? Why, specifically, does this movie need 3D?

Keeping in mind, of course, that I don't have anything against 3D in and of itself. I simply don't like it when it's used purely to sell an otherwise "meh" film. Particularly if it's poorly done (ie - film has 3D effects applied in post-production, rather than being filmed in 3D).

Writing up a full review, but this is one of the best movies of the year. Utterly incredible, moving, a love letter to art.

It's also the only film I've ever seen that benefited from the use of 3D.

Hugo is a tribute to the Stage and the Screen and the Imagination; it is a testament to the miracle of childhood friendship ...

And, perhaps for the first time ever, the movie is just as amazing as the book.

Oh, and 3D really, really, really matters to movie.

The trailer is awesome; the problem is that ...

You can't really under Hugo unless you see it or have read the book.

Before I go to any great lengths, are first edition copies readily available?
