Thought about putting this in tech, but I figure it works better in entertainment. What streaming music services are you guys using? I used a paid mog.com account for about 6 months (after reading that they're the highest quality music streaming site by far in an audiophile magazine), and just recently spotify offered me a month free, so I'm trying it out for a month.

I have to say, MOG is much more conducive to finding new music. On Spotify, you can see what your friends are listening to on Facebook, but that seems to be the only way of browsing music (other than seeing the 8 or so newest albums Spotify have put up). You can turn on a genre radio station, but personally, I like to listen to an entire album by a new artist to really get a feel for if I like them or not. I think at the end of the free trial I'll definitely be going back to a MOG paid account (especially since I have an android phone I can stream on now).

Mog streams at 320kb/sec (lower for mobile unless you change the settings to 320) and Spotify only allows 160kb/sec max to my mobile. Spotify will do 320kb/sec on the desktop, but they require that you install a client, it's not just off the site.

I also have some friends that love rhapsody but it looks like they're behind the times, streaming at 128kb/sec.

Google Music. Streams at whatever bitrate I upload, accessible on my phone. Not useful for discovering new music, though, but I'm not as musically adventurous as I once was, and even then, it wasn't high on my list of things to do. I know what I like, and have a collection of it.

Yeah, I use GM as well, definitely great for your current collection (although I have to say, kind of annoying that I can't think of it as a backup, since you can never get your music back OUT of it). There is always more great music to discover though.

Slacker. They don't ask me "are you still listening?" every couple of hours.

Well, I don't see that this thread is/was supposed to be about *mobile* services in particular, but ... Slacker Everywhere so, problem solved.
