With all the 80s-philes on the board, how did we not have a thread about this? I'm not a huge fan, but I thought it was pretty good and chock full the spirit of the movie in addition to the obvious and more subtle homages.

When the valet came on at the end, I turned to my brother and said, "Oh god, they're not.. they did, awesome!"

Was very disappointed in the version they played during the superbowl, quickly told everyone to look up the full version online. :)

I approve of this commercial.

The only thing that would have made it more awesome and complete would be the addition of Alan Ruck.

It's unfortunate that the car is a CR-V, but otherwise that's a pretty awesome commercial.

(and I OWN a CR-V)

Loved the commercial.

Aizle:

What don't you like about your CR-V? Oonagh and I just bought a 2012 CR-V and so far we like it very much.

My brother did point out that that (the valet) was clearly the most fun anybody had ever had in a CR-V.

It kinda makes me sad that Ferris Bueller is shilling for a car company now. :(

If he's thinking the same way I am, it's nothing against the CR-V itself, just that it seems like a strange car for Ferris to be shilling for. Since the Ferrari in the original film was "So Choice."

It really needed to have Broderick's friend Nathan Lane introduce himself as the "Sausage King of Chicago."

Didn't even think of it that way.
