Fall 2013. Gah. 2 years to make three 90-minute episodes. I suppose we can blame The Hobbit? |

Or you can blame Doctor Who. Or both. |

When your television show's lead characters are Bilbo and Smaug, yeah I blame the Hobbit. But I also blame Star Trek now, too. |

When your television show's showrunner and writer is also the showrunner and headwriter for Doctor Who, yeah I blame Doctor Who. But I also blame The Hobbit now too. |

So I finally got to watch Season 2 and now it is safe to open up this thread. Awesome show. Anyway...Talya, about your comment. There are three sliders that you can manipulate. Time, Money, and Quality. Having three 90 minute episodes is just another way of expressing the time factor. To get more episodes quicker, they'd need to either reduce the quality, or increase the money. They are likely unable to do the later, and unwilling to do the former. |

I don't think money, time or quality is the cause for the delay. I think it's previous commitments by the show's actors taking precedence. |

It is still a factor of those three. They could recast Watson or reduce his involvement in the story. Both things that would reduce quality. There are also financial ways to get around it, which would be wildly expensive and impractical. The prior commitments are just another factor of time. |

Looks like we can also blame the new Star Trek movie... |

I will just suffer and wait for it to hit Netflix. |

They're usually on within 5 minutes after whenever they first air on whatever channel in whatever country they aired on. Based on a cursory IPT search, it appears that Series 3 episode 2 "The Sign of Three" finished airing just over an hour ago. "The Empty Hearse" aired about four days ago. |

The Sign of Three was bloody brilliant, best Sherlock episode yet. Sadly, I'm still no closer to knowing how he pulled off his faked suicide at the end of series 2. |

And while "The Sign of Three" may have been bloody brilliant, "His Last Vow" (S3E3) garners a big, huge "WTF?" That's the worst episode ever. Seriously, you have two full years to come up with three episodes, and that's the crap you give us? |

It was good to see Sherlock beaten, I just didn't expect him to respond as he did. I'd also like to say that I'm very pleased the show doesn't feel the need to choose supermodels for actresses. |

I'll one-up you: Mary Watson is being played by Amanda Abbington, who is Martin Freeman's (John Watson) wife in real life. (Well, common-law partner.) The on-screen chemistry was awesome. |

I just saw the Sign of Three, that is probably my most favorite episode ever of this show. At least now I know to lower my expectations for the next episode. |

So. Much. Fun. It's the only new Sherlock we're getting this year, but damned if they didn't pull out all the stops. |

I have to wait for it to hit Netflix. The price jump my cable bill would take just to have BBC America...not worth it. |
