He lived a long, productive life, died in the hospital at 92 years old.

Despite winning three Grammies himself, he might not have been a familiar name to everyone. Indian Sitar music is not all that popular here. But he made his mark on music you do know. He was a huge influence in the life of late Beatle George Harrison. One of his daughters is 11-time Grammy winner Nora Jones.
