I ... don't get the appeal. Strikes me a pretty standard saturday morning cartoon with not-so-subtle allegorical lessons, voiced in that high pitched little girl range that makes me want to rip out my eardrums.

Ok, my daughter just started watching this a week ago on netflix (thanks to her friends in Animae club)

I sat down and watched it with her (as much as I can stand)... I ... don't get the appeal. Strikes me a pretty standard saturday morning cartoon with not-so-subtle allegorical lessons, voiced in that high pitched little girl range that makes me want to rip out my eardrums.

I wish we could ignore threads so this wouldn't be the only thing giving me an unread post notification. My OCD demands that all forums be marked read

I would add that you don't see grown women obsessing over MLPFIM the way grown men do. Which leads me to believe the men that do are somehow deviant and perverted.

While I won't deny that a significant portion of bronies are male, nor that at least some of them are perverted deviants, about 15% of the brony population is female. You don't "see" them, because their existence doesn't garner the same kind of WTF reaction.

I'd just like to point out that I'm deviant and perverted, and I somehow manage to refrain from obsessing over technicolor little girl ponies. This means that the cult of pony are truly **** up individuals. We're talking furry-level **** up.

I'm making a pony thread. Season 3 starts this Saturday. Yay!. Admit it -- you're at least morbidly curious. If you haven't watched it yet, you should give it shot. If you don't watch MLP, you'll make Fluttershy cry. You monster. C'mon....you know you want to!
