Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure finally came out on bluray yesterday. A movie that I would rank as my favorite, and one that treats time travel slightly more realistically than others (your personal time is always advancing regardless of where you go). Most triumphant! The clock in San Dimas is always running. Don't forget, you have to dial One Number Higher. Also, if you pay attention, Rufus never actually tells Bill and Ted his name... |

"You forgot to wind your watch, and after you told yourself not to." "Well, I better remind myself again!" |

Bill: Ted, while I agree that, in time, our band will be most triumphant, the truth is, Wyld Stallyns will never be a super band until we have Eddie Van Halen on guitar. Ted: Yes, Bill. But, I do not believe we will get Eddie Van Halen until we have a triumphant video. Bill: Ted, it's pointless to have a triumphant video before we even have decent instruments. Ted: Well, how can we have decent instruments when we don't really even know how to play? Bill: That is why we NEED Eddie Van Halen! Ted: And THAT is why we need a triumphant video. Both: EXCELLENT! |

That movie is just chock full of awesomeness. Even in just really minor and subtle details. Like the blossoming friendship between Socrates and Billy the Kid. You can begin to see it if you watch them in the background while Bill & Ted are checking out the princesses (they are learning to play catch with nerf football). And it eventually culminating in Socrates going on a joyous pistol rampage through a mall and him being the wingman to Billy while they hit on mall girls (before Freud shows up and cockblocks them). It's a silly 80's comedy movie, but I honestly love it more than any other. |

I strongly recommend it. Just do so with the mindset that 1. This was made in the '80s. and 2. It is not a movie that takes itself too seriously. I recommend the sequel as much as I recommend the Matrix sequels (read: I don't). Sure, it has an "ending" to the story. But it loses a lot of what made the first so great. |

SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES! Put them in the iron maiden. Excellent! (air guitar) Execute them! ... Bogus! Also, while the second is pretty terrible, there are some great and surreal moments while they're in hell, and death is excellent. |

My co workers and I will use that line now and then when we are communicating and we lose our train of thought or an explanation is just going on too long and the gist was made. And I agree, there were some good moments from the second. They just felt few and far between. And the "tone" of the movie just was much different than the first. And, I agree, William Sadler's Death was great. |
