Russian Santa looks entertaining, sure... but it's completely nonsensical.
I suppose Dreamworks decided they already did a movie that nominally featured Vikings, so they couldn't make Santa Norse. Of course, their Vikings had Scottish accents, so... it's either par for the course, or Scandinavian accents were still on the table, depending on how you want to look at it.
I didn't mind the Scottish accents because the Vikings also settled in Scotland. (Gaelic has a bunch of Old Norse loan words.) However, if I had to quibble, it was because it was an attempt at a Scots accent vs. Scottish Gaelic (or Middle Irish) that actually would have been around in the Viking period.
Now, that being said, how about that part where it's a fantasy setting, because dragons don't f'ing exist, so the "Vikings" can have whatever accents they want?
