Can not wait!

Well, I can. I really don't have a choice in the matter.

Despite the dramatic plot differences, we're getting to the point of the book series that, based on pacing, I'm thinking the show will be better.

Lol, check out School of Thrones. I think Dnayrssadf is played by Ash from "Hey Ash!"

Bah, the season opener knocked out both Westeros.org and televisionwithoutpity.com.

It was an awesome start to the season.

I wanted to see the battle at The Fist of The First Men. Guess that isn't going to happen. The show is too damn short. An hour a week is not enough.

I'm with you there, I'm sure budget has a lot to do with it too.

Spoiler:
Just imagine what it will cost to do the upcomming battle at the wall, assuming they do it.

Me too. Also the Queen of Thorns was awesome. I do wish that they hadn't made it look like Jamie easily lost the fight with Brienne. That weakens him too much IMO.

I disagree. He was in chains and it's not like she trounced him.

Jaime admits he'd have lost that fight unchained as it were: she's stronger than Lannister and put in comparative company with the Umbers and the Mountain.

In the books they are very evenly matched, with her gaining a slight advantage. In the show it seemed she was just toying with him.

ASoS spoiler...
Spoiler:
It is important that Jamie is seen as an incredible fighter, so that the viewer realizes the impact of him losing his hand.

Yes, we've had this discussion before and yes, that's why spoiler tags exist, but if you guys want to talk about stuff that hasn't happened yet can you make a book thread? I just ruined my own day. It's really hard not to click on that ****.

Post subject:

What the hell? Not only is it enclosed in a spoiler tag, it is clearly labeled as an ASoS book spoiler. And you'll notice that I did in fact make this thread.

Post subject:  Re: Game of Thrones Season 3

It's too hard not to look. The problem with spoiler tags is that there's no frame of reference. Yeah, you said ASoS spoiler, but asking why Tyrion still has his nose in the show could fall into that category as well. There's no telling if a spoiler is talking about something that's already happened, happened a different way in the show than it did in the book, or has yet to happen. The first two are fine, it's the latter that just screwed me.

Feel free to tell me to get bent, I'll just refrain from checking the thread until the end of Season 4 when the ASoS storyline finishes up.

I added rules for spoilers at the top of the thread.

Lenas, I think it was very clear. I won't tell you to get bent, but I do think you are being unreasonable.

It's fairly common practice to separate book and show discussion threads around the net but it's fine.

On the bright side, Lenas, you at least got burned on that spoiler and not some others we could think of. I'd consider it a lesson learned on a relatively harmless topic in the grand scheme of what's expected this season.

Aegnor, I think the spoiler rules are quite sensible for this thread. So let's consider it a lesson well learned and precautions implemented.
