Like Firefly, I got into this wonderful show long after it had already been cancelled.

I was reading this again and saw that WB was "helping" with distribution. I wonder if that means that non kickstarters would have to wait 5-9 months for DVDs and digital downloads.

I really hope this entire experiment works out, I would love for fans to be able to fund their creators more obscure properties, since most of what we're seeing today is crappy remakes and the same thing over and over again.

I'm not entirely sure how a dark comedy/procedural drama really translates to a movie. I'll surely see it in some form or fashion if it gets made, but Veronica Mars isn't exactly a "movie" property.

As for funding a season of any TV series: The only way that happens is if it's online, which, in the specific case of Firefly, given the rise in stardom of Nathan Fillion and Morena Baccarin, I seriously doubt will happen.

Anyway, I could totally see this made into a movie. It is, after all, based in part on every film noire private eye story ever told on the silver screen. If only we could clone Humphry Bogart...
