92, he lived long enough to understand the seminal role his work played in changing the movie industry, in vastly improving how things were done and challenging the artists to achieve greater results.

Can you think of a greater reward for all your hard work than to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you changed the world for the better?

RIP Mr. H. Thank you.

Gonna fire up Jason and the Argonauts this weekend in his honor. So many seminal movies.

Every one of his creatures, in chronological order.

Awesome video. I've only seen the Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Clash of the Titans, but his other stuff was really impressive as well. I'd love to see someone take a few of his best scenes and remaster them with modern post-production techniques (e.g. lighting and green-screen blending). It seems like the quality of his model work was far better than the post-production technology of the day could fully capture.

That's a fantastic video, thanks. I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't realize he'd done the visual effects for Mysterious Island. That's another movie that I've always loved - fighting the Giant Crab, the Giant Honeybees.

Yeah, wow, not feeling old or nothin' right now.
