General Forums: EQlive Official Forums Class Sites: Ranger Warrior Shaman/Paladin/Druid Shadow Knight General Reference: Samana's Reference Desk- Everything from buff combos to progression. Allakhazam's- General Search Engine Lucy- Spell Data, Item Data Mapfiend- downloadable maps for all zones EQ Interface- custom interface downloads. I recommend Drakah's, but there are lots of nice ones. Kumbaja- Spell parser, arguably better than Lucy Raidloot Rasper's site- Recent progression Playing Catchup: FAQs "What to do and when"- some nice ideas/walkthroughs AC Augs to Farm Current and Past Hotzone Augs by Level"Quests and Things to Do" |

Lucy is notoriously bad for making assumptions about the state of spells, or the effects. Its good for getting some basic information, in but in more than 1 case I can think of, the specifics of some spells is erroneous and could cause problems with modern content. I recommend Kumbaja, or even a site called Raidloot (I forget the URL, but its easily searchable on Google). I would also recommend Rasper's site for good information about current expansions, since Dragons of Norrath anyway. |

Great! I didn't have the current URL for Kumbaja, I had assumed it had gone down over the year I was gone. And raidloot is great- does better profiles than Magelo, as well. |

This is a dedicated 'Everquest' launcher. I found a link to it in the forums. For those having problems with the Station Launcher, this one may work better (then again maybe not). http://launch.soe.com/everquest/ The disclaimer I saw in the forums said it was 'unsupported', but that is nothing new. Nothing they develop is really 'supported' very well. I have not tried this yet. YMMV. |

Here are some useful links with tips for creating macros. Someone (forget who) was asking about this in /gu the other day. I was doing some research of my own and though I'd share. Allahs Wiki http://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/eq:macros Macros 101 at eqlive forums http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/posts ... c_id=17806 Edit: the macro's 101 guide goes back to the early days before you could stack multiple commands on a line (/pause), and before commands like /stand worked. Still lots of good information there. |

Since useful defiant drops have pretty much ceased for a few of us, I'm posting a link to the list of DoN merchant items broken down by class. The weapons here are pretty decent (better than Defiant I'm pretty sure, but I'll leave that analysis to the experts)... the armor isn't great compared to defiant of the same level, but if you are like my rogue, and still wearing tutorial tunic at level 55, this might be a decent option for you. http://interzone.com/EverQuest/don-merchant-list.html It looks like level 58 opens up some decent stuff, including a nice dagger I'm going to get for my rogue and possibly a chain breastplate if a miracle doesn't otherwise happen. I should be around this Friday evening and over the weekend if anyone wants to group up and do some DoN missions. |

If anyone is looking for a custom UI for EQ, I can give pretty strong recommendations for Vert. Not many full UI's are being maintained these days, but this guy over at the bard site actually had the HoT patches ready to go on launch day. Here is a link. Concert Hall - Vert UI thread It's available in 3 colors, and has a few customization options. I really like the clean look. I run it at 1920x1080. I can't say what other resolutions it's friendly to. |

One of the other UI sets that is consistently maintained is Drakah- he has his own site as well as EQinterface, and does emulations of WoW/EQ2 interfaces, as well as a few of his own making- both WoW an EQ2 interface chances also change the spell graphics to match that game's, which can help you if you're swapping over. He also maintains a working version of the old default interface, for those that preferred that. |

This helpful link at eqplayers talks about EQ graphics settings in quite a bit of detail. It was the top link on the 'eq news' list when I logged in this afternoon. I haven't read it in detail yet, but I definitely plan to, as I have some interest in learning how particle effects and other settings affect performance. http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/news_ ... m?id=52048 |

TOV Quests and their rewards can be found here. Mont of the items aren't as good as what you can get from Defiant or HZ quests, except that many have better haste and some have stats like + ATK that aren't present in ToV. Each quest requires a total of 4 symbols from minor nameds in EToV and Tears from Dozekar, the dragon in there. The exact combination varies from quest to quest. |

To add to this, here is the DoN guide from Allah's, which includes a basic breakdown of the progression for this expansion. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Ev ... of_Norrath I'm probably going to work on this on at least one of my characters, so i have one who can farm crystals for spells, augs, weapons, etc... Depending on how tedious it is, I may work this on all of them. Edit: So if I'm reading this correctly... http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/ques ... quest=3061 You have to be level 65 to do the progression tasks? Goji is now indifferent in the Norrath Keepers camp, and is being offered some tasks at level 61 (I haven't done any except the pre-req faction quests). I'm kinda confused as to how this works. Anyone do DoN progression back in the day can shed some light? This was the last expansion before I stopped playing and i didn't do any of the missions back then. |

Adding a new post to bump the thread. I found another good reference for DoN information at Sammanas' Reference Desk. http://samanna.net/gen.info/prog.don.shtml Its very detailed. The only thing I'm still not clear on is level requirements. It seems like it's intended to start in the mid-60's. I'm' not sure if there are any restrictions though. I've finished all of the faction solo tasks at the wayfarers camp, and am going to try the first set of solo missions later this evening. |
