Kirah is able to make the melee proc poisons now, up to about level 55 or so. Hopefully I'll get up to 65-70 in the next few days.

I've done a little more research on exactly what I need to make them.

Spiders Bite ##: DD proc that scales to level. They are made from the various types of Nigriventer venom found on mobs around Norrath. I can't use these to skill up, however I don't have a problem making them and stashing them in the guild bank for general use. They can be a significant contributor to DPS in certain situations. They can also be resisted a lot depending on the level of the mob.

Scorpion's Agony ##: DD + Anger proc that would be best suited to toons in a tanking role. These are made with various types of "Gormar Venom".

To determine what level of poison the ingredients make, just consult the 'Required Level' on the venom. For example, "Concentrated Grade AA Nigriventer Venom" has a 'Required Level' of 60, and would be used to make "Spiders Bite X", which has a required level of 60.

There are many other poisons that can be made using the various other venom types. It's beyond the scope of this post to list them all, but suffice to say some of them can be situationally useful (i.e. proc a slow, a snare, a debuff, etc...). The same thing applies with these. The Required Level of the venom determines the required level of the poision, and thus will determine how effective it will be. If anyone has any interest in these, feel free to supply the venom and I'll be happy to make them for you. I'm not stockpiling venoms other than the two I mentioned above, and those will be converted to poisons fairly regularly.

If you want me to convert the the venoms to poisons for a specific toon (an alt or whatever), I'd suggest handing the kirah the poisons directly. I'm not going to keep track of who deposited what in the guild bank. If I see venoms in the guild bank, the resulting potions will go back to the guild bank for first come first serve consumption.

Spider's Bite and Scorpion's Agony are the only two usable by non-rogues, right?

I think I dropped a bunch of the Nigriventer Venom in the guild bank- either that, or it's on one of my characters and I need to drop it in the guild bank.

I should be on some over Thanksgiving, I'll check then.

I'll start keeping dropped venom. I have two versions VI right now on Hazzard and I haven't seen them not be resisted yet.

On the right dropped component topic, the best Damage shield potion I can use for Melee / Tank types with store bought components is 35 pt. It's a level 25 required I think. I find Hazzard never fights without one on. It'd be better to use higher level ones of course, but need dropped components from:

The Grey (Hearty Shissar Blood) - level 35
Luclin zones (Robust Shadow Essence) - level 45
Ssra temple (Exeptional Shissar blood) - level 55
Prophecy of Ro expansion zones (Powder of Ro) - level 65

If you come across any, I have a decent chance of making the higher level potions, similar to Kirah making poisons.

Neph, you did drop them in there (thank you). Grouse had dropped a few in as well. They are presently in Kirah's bags about to be converted to usable poisons, which I will drop into the guild bank after I'm done.

As far as the poisons being usuable by rogues, I believe you are correct, but honestly beyond those two, I haven't done any research, so I could be mistaken.

The problem I run in to is that so much has changed over the 11 years, that doing a search using google, or even on allahs', it's hard to determine what is current, and what is not.

I used a thread from the safehouse from 2001 for skilling up. I probably could have found cheaper ways to do it, but it was the only thing I could find. Fortunately I was able to get to 203 or so using vendor bought items in Abysmal. I think it cost me about 6k plat or so (but didn't pay close attention).

Like a bonehead, I didn't think to use a guild master to train up some points in it. I read in an old thread on safehouse that Stanos (the Rogue GM you spawn in HH for the Rogue epic) can train you all the way to 250, but I tried at 203. He said I already knew more than him, so I suspect that was nerfed.

I need to find some info on making the trophies. I just found out from another player that those have been revamped. I thought they were only doable after 200+, but apparently there are several tiers of them now?

Bah, I hate having to spend my play time reading spoiler sites for stuff like this. :p

There are tiers of trophies, starting at 50... The trophies are evolving items, and gain experience and level up a you do non-trivial combines.

You should do the trophy tasks as early as possible, they ask you to make appropriately skilled recipes, and the higher you start at, the worse they become to make (some rare Gates of Discord or Planes of Power combines, etc).

Once you get a trophy, you never have to do another quest, thankfully. Each trophy will summon bags as a clicky- the higher the tier, the larger/better weight reduction the bag has.

EQtraders has fallen off in the last year or so, but it's still a good repository of knowledge, between the boards and the site itself.

In the "Guides" section of the message boards there are "complete tradeskill guides" that are probably the best to use to skill anything up.

ugh.. I just read up on these.. Kirah is at 206 now, so its going to be a major PAIN...

*sigh

Oh well. I made all of the combines for the venoms I had (and you can get skillups for them at high level (concetrated Grade A or above for Kirah) contrary to what I thought I'd read.

Jemi had deposited over 200 grade A nigrigenter venoms, which made Spiders' Bite VI I believe. Not going to put them all in the guild bank (they only stack to 20), so I'll just drop a few in every now and then. There are some other levels spread between Spiders Bite I and Spiders Bite X, but only a few of each.

The'll be in the GB soon, available first come, first served.
