All,

The guild leader of <Noli Deficere> has asked us to join in an 'alliance' of sorts. This is a good group of folks who are not soley focused on getting to level 90 and burning through content. Most of their mains are 70-80, but a few are still in the 50's. Some of them have multiple alts, and are they have expressed interested in doing some of the same content we are (PoP, DoN, OOW, GoD, etc...)...

This guild used to be "Eternal Darkness", but they spun off a new guild when their guild leader quit. Puggi is the guild leader (and Ranger). He has an alt named Stubbornr. They have a web site set up with a section for alliances.

I haven't registered yet, but I definitely will later tonight.

I mean, more people is nice, and I'm certainly game to try it out.

That said, raiding GoD with anything less than a well tuned group is.... Interesting. I used to lead alliance raids, and even overleveled and overgeared we wiped a lot.

I find most of the time, until something is lowered to the point of being groupable, it's still raid content, and as such there needs to be a lot more practice in working together to get it down.

Pickup Anguish raids and DoN raids once we hit 70 are a much larger possibility than PoP and GoD content at 65, imo.

But like I said, I'm definitely game.

I think he just set up the board last night. Give it some time.

In the mean time /join RGND in game. Some of their members and officers should be in that channel.

They are a lot further along in content and they have some advanced tradeskillers we can abuse. Hipocrates(CLR)/Nospoh(ENC Alt) can research up to level 75 spells now I think (if we provide the components). I'm not sure what other tradeskills they might have.

They have a large contingent of alts who are at level 65 right now (they were farming in The Hole last night).

If nothing else, it will broaden our grouping possibilities.

I am all for expanding our circle. I have auto-joined RGDN, all I need to do now is configure the channel to a window where it won't get spammed out by DS and proc messages.

Research could be good. Duff has 3 more 61/62 spells to get and 2 are single target versions of something that he has group versions of already. If I can find a used parchment drop to research his 61 pet, I can not bother with further Ethereal parchments at all.

Did you end up setting a PW on the channel, Midgen?

I'd recommend it, just because anyone can accidentally set a PW without knowing it... And it will permanently lock the channel. Its why most channels do /join RGND:RGND or some-such.

Expanding the grouping circle would definitely be nice, and I'm assuming most of these guys are raiders or ex-raiders, and know their content pretty well, which helps a lot.

I asked him about it (the password), but he didn't seem to think it was a big deal. His comment was something to the effect of 'over half the server will be in it already anyway, and the other half is already beyond the content we are doing'.

Your point about it accidentally being locked out is a good one. I'll mention it to him.

I know several of their members fairly well. They are a mix of old school raiders and casual players (many returneees) much like we are. I know that it's a mature group (Puggi/Stubborn, their guild leader is retired).

I think you will find that they are very friendly, and eager to group with us. I can't tell you how many times they've invited Goji to group with them in places like DSH or whatever, even though (at the time) it was well above her level and ability to contribute (she didn't go :p ). I think they respect and appreciate that we are doing our own thing, and aren't just racing to 90 as fast as we can.

Raiding and knowing content is a weak spot for me. I was always pretty casual and left shortly after LDoN.

Aye, very few people use passwords to keep people out- but unless you have one of the base level SoE channels, no PW makes it too easy to lock people out.

That's why you default to the channel name as a PW- then everyone knows it, but it can't get changed.
