It hasn't been confirmed, but the data mining folks seem to think they use the same code as the other vehicles (i.e. they scale depending on your speeder piloting license).

The sound is going to be interesting. Much like your characters footsteps, they will have to have different sounds depending on what they are running in (indoors/fleet, snow, water, dirt, etc...)
