I think my lvl 12 heal might just trump anything you've got for bad. Diagnostic Scan is a 3-second channeled ability that heals 18 points per second :derp:

You are supposed to use it between real heals so you don't run out of energy.

And Commando can use the Support Cell stance to make their freebie attack heal some damage when used on allies.

Wait, what? On the companion? Is it a color crystal thing? You can swap that out with a DS-compatible one, if that's what the hang-up is. It's a side-effect of alignment-restricting lightsaber colors, unfortunately. I'm crossing my fingers they work out a way to restrict it for sabers, but not guns.

As far as healing goes, the one you've got is your big heal, and it scales up with stats and stuff. I certainly noticed when they were hitting, if it makes you feel better.

I thought advanced probe was a 1.5 second cast? That makes it a faster heal, but I think it's smaller, too. Patch healing, really, which is why it's on a cooldown.

Looking at the skill tree for my own commando, I suspect the feel of healing changes some when you get Support Cell and Trauma Probe.

Yeah, it probably was a color crystal thing. But wow... that's just asinine. I want to shoot green bolts. The color of my energy bolts shouldn't be linked to how much of a bastard I am.

As for the healing thing... That slots in with my ***** about C/Ds. They're all so looooong. In a fight, it feels like all the good stuff is waiting to be used while I pewpew with my activated auto attack. To be fair though, that 1min C/D AoE thing... that's pretty much a group killer.

Anybody know a JediInfiltrator? Another guild application with no fields filled out.

I have top say I really enjoyed running Esseles with you guys. Surprisingly Kaffis and I were able to two man it last night pretty well. After running through worth the bug guns I thought we might have trouble with the bosses but nit so bad.

Sounds like you guys are having fun. Almost wish I had started a new character on your server. As it is, I am playing my mid-level Scoundrel. Still having a blast with him. Or is it a blaster? :P

Re-rolled my Smuggler this weekend, thinking I was gonna go Gunslinger, but went Scoundrel again anyway. Should've just kept the original:roll:
Anyway, got him up to lvl 17 and have a much greater respect for him as a healer. Exploratory Surgery lets me chain Underworld Medicine and Kolto Pack back-to-back, while Pugnacity and Cool Head keep my energy from going completely into the toilet.

Yeah, my thing is definitely that the Flashpoints and heroics are the best part of the game (when the heroics end up being more than a 2-room diversion from normal overworld stuff), because the grouping dynamics are actually pretty good when stuff is challenging enough to warrant paying attention to them. The way this game can fail for me is if the "we support group playstyles" extends to, well, repeating the same dozen flashpoints over and over. They're fun enough and have those nifty choices and dialogue options to make replaying them a few times (even per-character, probably) tolerable, but I can only play the same level so many times. I've never been a "replay the single player game!" person, either, for much the same reason.

Though, now that I think of it, I certainly spent months or years /played camping dungeons in EQ.. Hrm.

I'm working the evening shift tonight, but should be home around 9pm EST. I got my knight up to 15; not sure if that's enough to give the Hammer a shot, but if anybody else is willing, I'd like to.

15's on the low end, but TankyDal is 18, which should be good for it.

I got my trooper to 15 too. If you guys are still on up to the wire when I log in, I'd be interested in trying it out too. I learned my tanking stance and haven't been able to try it out yet. I'm picking the DPS ish tree though so could try and fill that role with a decent tank. Where does the Hammer station flashpoint get handed out?

What I like:

- The character story missions actually make me want to keep playing them to learn what happens next. And I was impressed that they didn't end right out of the newbie area.

- Playing a sith isn't like playing a villain in City of Villains, where you're just evil-lite. Where "you're a bad guy, but you really just beat up other bad guys... so you're not really a bad guy..." Oh no. In just the first 15 levels I counted myself saying "Wow, that's harsh!" no less than half a dozen times in relation to the choices I had my character make. I made the decision to be as evil as I possibly could be, and some of those choices were harsh enough that I was hesitant to make some of those decisions because of just how wrong they made me feel. That's the kind of "evil" that's been lacking in a lot of RPGs these days. That's the kind of "evil" I was hoping for out of Dragon Age 2 but never received. The sith newbie area alone satisfied all of my evil cravings for the entire game. I can't wait to see what else is in store.

- Having companions means just two players can get quite a lot accomplished.

What I dislike:

- Bioware's firm stance on "no mods." Well, not so much that as "No giving you any ability to customize your UI." Specifically, I hate having to stare at my quickslot bars. Watching for what power is about to come off of cooldown. Watching for how much energy/rage/etc. I have so I can use a power. I loved Power Auras in WoW because I could shift my eyes' focus back where they belong: to the center of the screen; to the center of the action. I hate missing any of that action (even for a split second) because I have to look at the bottom of my screen. This is a beautiful game. But in combat, I am seeing more buttons and numbers than I am seeing all of the cool stuff I am doing.

I understand why they don't want to allow mods, and I applaud and respect the reasoning. But at least let my eyes look upon the game as it was meant to be looked upon! At least give me some Bioware-made adjustments/cues I can make or SOMETHING! I shouldn't have to ever take my eyes off of the glorious combat. Not for a moment. Not for a second. Not for an instant.

Ultimately, I really like this game. A lot more than I expected to. Got a smuggler up to 20 this weekend. And while he was fun, I just am a melee person at heart. I couldn't get into him as much as I would have liked. Great class storyline and how they play is definitely fun and unique. But for me, at the end of the day, I just need to be up in someone's face smacking them. I broke my rule of "I plan on playing sith when the game goes live, so I'll play republic in beta." And honestly, I enjoyed the Sith Warrior so much that I eagerly await starting another one over. And I plan on playing him just as evil. It will be emotionally hard, but intellectually very fun.

Now, where's that button to my slave's shock collar.....

Hammer Station gets handed out by a droid outside the Coruscant spaceport.

Numbuk.. Play a DPS Scoundrel. Presto, melee smuggler!

Bioware is planning on allowing mods, but not at release. Later, yes.

Heh. I thought about the scoundrel. And if I was in my "sneaky bastard" phase that I get into every so often, I'd likely pick him. No, I'm back to my default big brute phase. So, Sith Warrior Juggernaut it is.

Edit: I like the idea of mods. But I also like the idea of people not being able to parse other player's data so exclusions are less frequent.

I just want my eyes center screen. That's all I want and need.

Just for the record, Hammer is much tougher than Esseles. We're going to need a dedicated healer, and I've had "damn I'm squishy" moments from before I picked up my "increased defense chance" talents. Enemies average level 18.

Hammer is a level 19 instance, so you should probably be around that level. It's pretty easy until the last boss, but then you'll need 4 real people because companions suck at avoiding AOE. Well, most people suck at that as well, but companions generally suck at it more.
