Okay, the 2 European servers, I can understand. As well as the RP-PVP East server (there's only one RP-PVP for that time zone). But the PvP and PvE Wests? Wow.

Not surprising. They have over 900k preorders.

6 is the surprising number... should be something like 36.

40 or 50 ;) Maybe even as high as 60.

Third wave of invites has gone out, and apparently they're only up to July 22 or so. I preordered in October, so I got some time to wait.

November pre-order here, maybe I'll get in next Tuesday...

As they said, the first few days of pre-orders are a significant portion of the total. So, yeah, I'd be surprised if we get far out of July by the end of the day. After that, you'll probably see a week or two per wave.

They don't seem to be going by date from what I can tell. I'm not in, but my brother who ordered 2 days ago is.

I preordered July 27th and I'm not in. Sure am glad I bothered ;)

Clearly people don't know what "up to" means.

It gets better. That thread was locked at 304 pages, after just over 5 hours of QQng. The new thread hit 753 pages before it was locked down with the promise of a new one beginning tomorrow when they start doing more waves.

1,000+ pages of whining in a single thread if you don't count the fact that the admins broke it off ... dunno if the WoW forums ever managed quite that much concentrated QQ.

To me, that is another indicator that this game is poised to truly take a large bite of WoW. Blizzard should indeed be worried like they are.

It won't kill the game by any means, but it will cause some good lightsaber dismemberment. I purposefully cancelled my WoW account this weekend to help create that wound for their database numbercrunchers to dissect.

I'm just glad that a lot of people will be out of the newbie zones by the time I get in, hopefully.

But they'll only be replaced by MORE! MORE!

Seriously, though, if what I was able to sneak between work and class is any indication, a few waves' worth seemed pretty manageable.

Yeah... this... this I don't get.

There are people all over the world that want to play, and you're working banker's hours?

It's not working banker's hours so much as saying "Okay, nothing's blown up yet -- but most of the people we've invited so far haven't gotten off work/out of class in North America yet. Let's not invite more people just in time to collide with all the people coming home from THEIR banker's hours."

I'm reading on the forums that in the bestbuy.com chat thinger they had tonight, they said the next waves will be bigger than the ones they did today due to the success of the waves. Also, they pushed out a bonus wave today because of how well things were going and I think they expect to have the vast majority of people in by the end of Thursday. But I can't find a transcript of the bestbuy.com chat anywhere.

edit:

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthre ... #edit66561 has some of the information about bigger waves starting tomorrow.

At 1330 CST.

I could agree with you in principle if they said "We're going to wait till 1800 EST or so to see if we get a spike with people coming home. Invites to the NA servers will resume around 1900 EST if all goes well."

Not "Yeah, we're done for the day at 1330CST inviting people. Better luck tomorrow."

Heh.
They've announced they're looking for full-time "Social Media Representatives" to work from home for "up to 3 months".
I seriously thought about that for a few minutes, shuddered, and decided I don't want any part of that responsibility.

Yeah Shel. They clearly need a new CM.
