$20 to add a few little perks, like some kind of vehicle and a personal droid. Do these perks have any gameplay advantages or are they cosmetic only?

I was wondering that myself. I didn't know how much it was, either.

Cosmetic only. The bulk of the cost of mounts (the vehicle) is in the proficiency to use them, not the mount itself. The droid is cosmetic only, no gameplay effects.

Is the personal droid like a toy pet in WoW? As in, you summon it, and it follows you around looking cute or whatever?

That was my initial assumption, but I read a thread (complaining about it, because they thought it was going to have some gameplay advantage) that seemed to imply it hovers around your targets, instead. So it may be a graphic-only "attack" or some such, instead.

No, I think it does a bit of damage.

The speeder will save you 8k credits, and I believe it's unique-looking. I like the look of it, honestly. And I purchased a separate one too, yet I keep coming back to the unique one. The other things are just fluff, but fun to have. There isn't a "minipet" in the digital deluxe version. Only CE's get one of those for free.

Side note: Zooming in all but one notch away is an awesome way to travel by speeder. It's "cockpit" mode. You can see the speeder console, your hands on the steering handles, etc. Pure coolness.

Also note - if you play a lot of alts, the upgrade will save you 8k credits per character.

Anyone happen to know if the promo speeder "scales"? I saw speeders of different speeds on the regular in-game vendor and the faster ones were pricier, which means if the promo speeder goes faster when you train the next rank, it'll be saving you a lot more than 8k. On the other hand, if it doesn't scale, it'll become obsolete when you can get faster transportation.

True, but at 25, 8k isn't that big a deal.

And it does not scale.

It is if you're running enough alts.

And that's the part that sucks. Sure, you save 8k per toon at lvl 25, but if it's gonna get stabled when you're high enough level to drive faster vehicles, it kinda loses value.
Who knows, though? Maybe the devs will come to the same mount speed realization at which Blizzard recently arrived. Just hope it doesn't take 'em 7 years to figure it out

Well, each alt is running their own story and such so they'll be making their own money :)

I just dropped the 50k for mount/training @26. By 27 I had another 20k on me already just from questing.

That's it, Nerf Femtroopers!

If you're doing heavy crafting and fishing for purple recipes.... and purple materials to make said purple recipes.... money isn't as abundant as you'd wish it was.

My latest Underground Trading spree has dropped me to 5k, from around 15k.

But I have purple recipes now.

I did that, too, Dal. I went from 21K to 10K in a single night of Diplomacy/Bioanalysis binging.

I'm also swimming in purple barrels :)

But yeah, I did have to stop crafting for a level or two to get the 50k for my mount.

I once RE'd the first green I had just learned and learned the blue recipe. Then I RE'd the first blue I made with that recipe, and got the purple recipe. I said to msyelf, "Well, that will never happen again."

So far, that's been correct.

You outlevel that purple gear so fast that it really isn't worth the credits. I'd actually suggest everyone take slicing as the third crew skill until you hit max level when you won't be outleveling your crafted mods and such. Plus, you'll have a lot more credits and some augments even.

I have found that the blues are not too bad to uncover as you go through and are often very good in comparison to loot. Trying for purples that get out leveled fast might be too expensive through re. Maybe that's a plan while leveling.

Slicing should always be one of your main character's crew skills until 50, if not longer. It makes ridiculous amounts of money. Crafting just isn't that big of a deal and is pretty expensive until 50. The only exception are a couple of the mission skills, like Underworld Trading, but only if you do them to sell the mats as well.

I'm lvl 31, have 200k in the bank, have the 40k storage tab, all the bag lines but the last one (costs 200k). I've been hovering around 200k since about lvl 26 or so. I need 200k for the last bag slots, and 400k for the storage tab at 40, which shouldn't be an issue honestly. I purchase new upgrades for myself and my preferred companion every 4 levels or so, along with a bunch of other random stuff that I look for.

I've probably spent 300k+ credits in the game so far.

My slicing skill hit 400 last night, I always have at least one guy out on a slicing mission. It doesn't really start making a lot of money until about the third tier, where it just takes off. I usually just take the highest level rich lockbox mission I have, works well. Blue lockboxes from tier 5 and 6 return 6-7k sometimes. By the mid 40's or so that won't be very good, so I plan on switching to another skill sometime around then probably.

Wow, just ... wow.

My main is lvl 31 and has about 28K in his pockets. I've never purchased any inventory upgrades or cargo hold upgrades and I outfit myself and my companion on quest rewards, lucky drops, and the generosity of fellow guildmates.

I was already sort of planning to make my alt a money whore, since there really doesn't appear to be any shortage in the guild of crafters, but I had no idea slicing paid *THAT* well.

Just for reference, I dropped treasure hunting yesterday, picked up slicing and I had about 20k. I had 80k by the time I was finished for the night. I only completed like, 4 quests and did 1 flashpoint.
