Update 3 will be coming out for ESO in early August. There's not a big content release directly, but a number of important immersion/game quality features:
- Overhaul of the PVP campaigns, mainly focused around putting an end to gaming of the system that players in any PVP system are wont to do. Also, different campaigns for different tastes in terms of level matchup and campaign length. - ARMOR DYES!! I've been a huge fan of dyes ever since EQ added them, and this will add something like 250 hues, with up to 3 per armor piece useable. Dyes are unlocked via achievements, and they are making a conscious effort not to tie all the "best" dyes to the hardest achievements. Also means dying your gear won't be a constant drain on your finances. - Guild heraldry and tabards. - Guilds will now be able to purchase vendors to sell to the public. The lack of a WoW-style generalized AH is a long saga of arguing among various factions in the playerbase, and the official position is that such a feature is not workable with the megaserver. That said, the existing guild stores were too limiting, so this was important. -Higher difficulty modes and other updates for existing content. -Numerous other small changes.
I'm really glad to get this stuff, especially the guild heraldry and dyes. This is the sort of stuff that improves the game across the entire playerbase; everyone wants to have a cool-looking avatar.
